John 6:32-33 Jesus then said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, it is not Moses who has given you the bread out of heaven, but it is My Father who gives you the true bread out of heaven. For the bread of God is that which comes down out of heaven, and gives life to the world.”
In these verses we have Jesus’ explanation of the true bread out of heaven. It is that which comes down out of heaven and gives life to the world. Of course, Jesus was referring to Himself. The spokesmen for the crowd mistakenly thought Moses gave the Hebrew fathers the manna. You’ll notice Jesus spoke in the present tense. It’s the Father who gives the true bread out of heaven.
Jesus has come down out of heaven to give life to the world, meaning, He is the only source of life for the whole world. There are no other sources of life, but the Son of God. In John 5:21, Jesus declared that He had the authority to give life to whom He wishes. In John 14:6 Jesus calls Himself the life. John 11:25, John records Jesus saying to Martha that He is the resurrection and the life. In John’s first epistle, 1 John 5:12, he wrote, “He who has the son, has the life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have the life.”
I hope you have discovered that Jesus is life and have received Him as your life. Love only flows out of His life. It doesn’t come from earthly, fleshly life. The kind of love the flesh has is a worldly love. God has called us to live out of the life of Christ which He has given to us. When He gives us His Son, we believe in Jesus, and have a passion for the glory of God.
