John 10:5 “A stranger they simply will not follow, but will flee from him, because they do not know the voice of strangers.”
The Pharisees were strangers to the now-seeing-man. He was fleeing from them because his heart had been taught to recognize Jesus for who He is. The voices of the Pharisees were now foreign to him. He could no more follow them than a sheep would follow a stranger out of the fold. The fact that he would not follow them said something about who they were—they were thieves and robbers—wolves in sheep clothing. The voice of the world has no appeal to God’s sheep. They will flee. Does that describe you? It begs the question: Who do we listen to? Who we listen to reveals whose we are. If we live to love with Jesus, we listen to Him and run from the voice of the world.
