John 11:28 When she had said this, she went away and called Mary her sister, saying secretly, "The Teacher is here and is calling for you."
What more needed to be said. She knows she’s in right relationship with Jesus. She believes. Apparently her answer was affirmed by Jesus. He sent her to get Mary. Look at Martha’s love for Mary. She knows her time with Jesus will be filled with emotion, so secretly informs her of His arrival. I think this is atypical to Martha’s personality. Remember, she’s the one that interrupts Jesus and without sensitivity to either Mary or Jesus, suggests He ought to make Mary help out in with meal preparations. However, in this instance, Martha shows a loving sensitivity. This a good example to us of living to love with Jesus—think about Jesus and think about others. How do we best facilitate one’s relationship with Jesus?
