John 11:30-31 Now Jesus had not yet come into the village, but was still in the place where Martha met Him. Then the Jews who were with her in the house, and consoling her, when they saw that Mary got up quickly and went out, they followed her, supposing that she was going to the tomb to weep there.
God gathered the crowd to display His glory in His Son by having Mary not follow Martha in the beginning but stay with the friends who came to console her. When Mary finally heard that Jesus was on the way and called for her, they followed her. God is always at work providentially moving people into place to accomplish His will. This will happen today in our lives as God places people in our paths to love with Him. He loves them and wishes to do it through us for His glory even as He loved Mary, Martha, and those who mourned Lazarus’ death. Let’s be alert to everyone we see today. God planted them there.
