Description

John 11:38 So Jesus, again being deeply moved within, came to the tomb. Now it was a cave, and a stone was lying against it.
The “so Jesus” indicates that Jesus responded to the accusation that He could have prevented Lazarus’ death. His delay was misunderstood. The work of God was to glorify His Son through Lazarus’ death. They couldn’t see that. Perhaps when we have the same misunderstanding and wrong judgment, Jesus is deeply troubled. Is there anything in our lives that we look back on and say, “God, You could have prevented it from happening, but You didn’t.” Is it possible that in our unbelief and pain, we judged wrongly and misunderstood God’s purpose for the event? We should be deeply troubled when we don’t trust God’s love, wait upon Him, and look for how Jesus can be made much of. Take Jesus to that place. Show Him the “stone” that lies in the way. Then wait upon Him there in worship.
