John 11:9-10 Jesus answered, "Are there not twelve hours in the day? If anyone walks in the day, he does not stumble, because he sees the light of this world. But if anyone walks in the night, he stumbles, because the light is not in him."
How do we know how to make decisions if we want to live to love with Jesus? Jesus explained His decision to go to Judea where His life had been threatened. His explanation is that He follows the light of God given to Him. If you remember what John wrote about Jesus in John 8-10, you remember that He testified that He was the Light of Life and the Light of the world. He opened a blind man’s eyes to see the Light of the world while the Pharisees and Jews stumbled around blindly in the dark. They couldn’t see Jesus because there was no light in them. Jesus made this decision to go to Judea because the Father had given Him love for Lazarus, Martha, and Mary, and that was The Light. Where God’s love is directed, there is daylight. The night has no love in it. John wrote the same in his first epistle. 1 John 2:10-11 The one who loves his brother abides in the Light and there is no cause for stumbling in him. But the one who hates his brother is in the darkness and walks in the darkness, and does not know where he is going because the darkness has blinded his eyes. How do we make decisions? Live to love with Jesus and you’ll walk in the light.
