John 9:16 Therefore some of the Pharisees were saying, "This man is not from God, because He does not keep the Sabbath." But others were saying, "How can a man who is a sinner perform such signs?" And there was a division among them.
Division. Some were out to get Jesus, and others could not deny the testimony. Sometimes division is a good thing. It reveals something. The healing of the blind man revealed those who could see (believe) as well as those who were blind (disbelieve). The apostle Paul attested to the value of divisions. He wrote to the Corinthians, “For there must also be factions among you, so that those who are approved may become evident among you.” Divisions bring out those of whom God approves—they trust in God and love. Those who are not approved trust in themselves and try to expose and shame those who disagree with them. When there are divisions, remember to always love, and let God, who sees clearly, judge and testify to what is true.
