John 9:36 He answered, "Who is He, Lord, that I may believe in Him?"
Who is the Son of Man? Imagine the change in his life. Blind from birth and now in the first hours of life with sight. Let’s remember, the last time Jesus saw him, he didn’t see Jesus. Jesus sent him off with mud in his eyes to go and wash them. So even though now he could actually see Jesus, he didn’t know he was the one who opened his eyes. Did he recognize Jesus’ voice from before? I doubt it. He was too caught up with the encounter and the miracle. Wouldn’t you be? Did he know he was speaking with the man who healed him? I don’t know. However, it is clear that this man wanted to know and believe, as are all who have had an encounter with Jesus and had their eyes opened. He wanted to know who had opened his eyes. What’s his name? Perhaps there are people in our lives that also have the same question. Let’s be ready to give an answer.
