Description

Romans 1:9 For God, whom I serve in my spirit in the preaching of the gospel of His Son, is my witness as to how unceasingly I make mention of you,
What is truth? Paul essentially said, “God is my witness as to how unceasingly I thank God for you.” For Paul, the truth is what God sees to exist in reality. There is no higher authority to have as a witness to our words and actions. He witnesses all that happens in the affairs of men. He observes our prayers, the affairs of our spirits, and our deeds done in our bodies.
Paul wrote to the Corinthians, 1 Corinthians 6:17 “But the one who joins himself to the Lord is one spirit with Him.” We serve God in our spirits. It is with our spirits that we relate to God. So when we live to love with Jesus, we are loving Jesus and others as one spirit. The Spirit of God is the Spirit of life who gives life to our spirits and bodies. Later to the Romans he wrote, Romans 8:11 “But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.” Praying for others is an act of love expressed in the spirit, and God witnesses that it is a work of the Spirit of Christ in us. Let’s not ever think that praying and thanking God for others is insignificant or meaningless. God notices and sees the truth. You are loving with Jesus.
