We follow Aria Tang West, a recent highschool graduate who was banished from her original summer plans with her friends on Martha's Vineyard after nudes (that she didn't consent to have taken) were leaked on tumblr making her parents decide she needs to spend time away from her group of friends, and instead with her Grandmother, a renowned artist named Joan West. While with Joan, Aria meets the gardener Steph Nichols and her summer, and her life change course forever.
