My good friend and fellow man of music—Kevin Mills—brought to my attention, yet again, some music from the fabric of our lives that was severely overlooked and under-appreciated.
The music for the game show The Price Is Right, didn’t just have a catchy theme song—famously remade by Paul Johnson and another version by Crystal Waters called “Come On Down”—the show also featured top-notch music for the interludes, showcase showdowns and many more.
Absolute classic 1970s Black American Popular Musicianship was on full display on this game show during the Bob Barker days.
Since Kevin Mills brought this to my attention, I sampled and reworked an interlude from the show and dedicated it to him.
