Chris Brånn | Silence (Change Request Dreamix)
For this Dreamix, I updated a lesser-known production of the Atlanta native’s off his 2011 self-released album of the same time.
“Silence” was released in 2011 on CBE Music, but didn’t get a full release until a Japanese version of it—Octave Lab (OTLCD 1810)—appeared in 2012, renamed as “Unspoken”.
Beginning his production career in 1994, Brann teamed up with Chris Clarke and Chris Udoh to form the production ensemble Wamdue Kids.
The Wamdue Kids began releasing house music EPs on Kelli Hand Detroit label Acacia Records, while also releasing tracks under the names Wam Kidz and Wambonix.
The trio remained together until 2000—while still affiliated with Clarke and Udoh—when Brann branched out to start producing tracks on his own, exploring other genres.
Using a variety of names—mainly, Wamdue Project, Ananda Project, and P'Taah—Brann went through a period of incredibly prolific output from 1996-2006, racking up credits on over 600 productions.
I added an entirely new rhythm section, extended certain sections to add additional orchestrations, and re-arranged the entire song.
Enjoy!
