Clarence Jackson | Wrap It Up (Change Request Dub It Up)
Detroit bred R&B artist, Clarence "Chocolate Bar" Jackson was a regular feature on The Motor City’s R&R Records located on West Seven Mile Rd., Valtone Records on Webb St., as well as Abbott and Red Line Records.
Not much information is available on Mister Jackson, beyond his active years of releasing records from the mid-1960s to the mid-1980s. Many of his later recordings would go on to become benchmarks of what would be coined the “Boogie” sound.
Written by Glover, Dean, and Howard, “Wrap It Up” was released in 1984 and produced by the R&R main maestro and Detroit producer extraordinaire, Mister John Glover (The Dells, The Originals, One Way, Four Tops, The Supremes).
I have been sitting on and playing this personal DJ Tool for some years now, so I figured it’s time to let this one slide on out the studio.
