The Weeknd | As You Are (Change Request Dreamix)
My top-shelf favorite production by the OVO team with Abel Tesfaye aka The Weeknd, "As You Are" is the eleventh track from his sophomore studio album, 2015’s “Beauty Behind the Madness”.
I have always loved this work, as it’s an excellent example of traditional musical ideas and musicianship—songwriting, harmonies, and arrangements—meeting by contrasting the contemporary sonic world of subtle, and sparsely lush sound emanating from the TDot Crew: October’s Very Own.
I have always wanted to remake this track—as an instrumental—after knowing it so well. I still use this as one of my many reference tracks for calibrating and acclimating myself to a new room or space. It’s just sublime.
