The human brain is wired to handle struggle. In fact, it’s a necessity in order for us to survive and thrive. At a very early age, we developed methods to deal with difficult situations that ultimately got us what we wanted, even if it was in a negative form of expression. Think, a temper tantrum.
Here’s the thing, we’ve carried some of these methods into our adulthood and they’ve evolved into what are known as “mental trips”.
A trip is a negative set of emotions and behaviors that we display in stressful situations today. Some of these trips can last hours, days if not years!
In this episode of the Get Up 8 Podcast, Eric interviews consultant and executive coach, David Martin. They breakdown what a trip looks like. And then, they discuss some tools you can use today to help you when a trip has taken you down the rabbit hole!
