WILL AZADA (aka The Lost Kid, Proper Trax, CGI, Finale Sessions / Memphis)
Will Azada launched his lauded Proper Trax imprint in 2011 with the help of close friends Alex Falk and Grey People while living in Knoxville. Over the span of four years, the label released eight quality techno and house dancefloor records showcasing unknown American talent from Tennessee, Georgia, Florida. With no strong promo plan and very little hype, Proper Trax records were picked up and played by only the most tasteful and devoted techno DJs. The label quickly established itself and its roster as some of the most talented and hungry up-and-coming producers and DJs living in America. Our label was strongly influenced by this model when we started, and undoubtedly countless other small dance labels were as well. Proper Trax’s impact in America and beyond cannot be overstated. Many think Proper Trax has closed up shop, but quality digital EPs are still surfacing on its Bandcamp page. And don’t be surprised if you see another 12” appear soon from the label…
It’s long overdue that we host Tennessee native and Proper Trax label boss Will Azada for a party with us in Denver. Will turned in a 2-hour mix of chin-down techno, soulful house, breaks, and more to mark his return to Denver.
