My new Drature EP is out now on Science Cult Records!
This is a five-track digital release and the follow-up to my Sprown EP on the same label.
The title track “Drature” is also the centerpiece of the EP — some of you might have heard it during the recent Autechre live gig. It runs in 5/4 with an odd break inside the measure, where the beat only hits at the beginning and end, leaving space for me to play with micro placements and textures.
Bassline: driven by one of the Alia firmwares from Noise Engineering.
Strings/Arps: soaked in the lush, dragging reverb of the Make Noise Erbe-Verb — the reverb tail itself almost becomes the string section.
Beats: still software-based at this point in my modular journey.
Melodies & textures: modular synth, mainly Eurorack.
The whole EP blends software precision with modular unpredictability, creating a hybrid sound that reflects where I was when I started diving into hardware.
👉 You can check out the Drature EP now via Science Cult (USA). If you decide to buy it, you’re directly supporting both me and a label that’s been pushing adventurous music worldwide.
We’re even talking about doing a limited vinyl run — if that excites you, let me know!
Much love & thanks for listening.
