Description

Get ready to ride the “Tides” as Brazilian producer Dangeon (Fabio Paiva Machado de Campos) teams up with the versatile vocalist and songwriter Fri3ndship (Emma Friendship) for their debut collaboration, dropping on DNBB Records on January 10th 2025, worldwide. Loved by Fri3ndship fans from her live performances already as a dubplate during 2024, this anticipated track showcases Dangeon’s signature drum style and melodic
depth combined with Fri3ndship’s evocative vocals, creating a liquid drum and bass journey through catchy pop into a dancefloor sound.

“Tides” blends atmospheric pads with a driving bassline, setting a moody yet energizing tone that sweeps listeners up and onto their feet. Fri3ndship's lyrics capture the pull and push of emotions, weaving a narrative about resilience and flow in times of change. She reflects, “When I first heard Dangeon’s production, in early 2022... I loved the power and how it’s always full of movement. We both grew up a lot working together over the last couple of years, and learned so much throughout the process. Writing “Tides” was like capturing my ebb and flow of life and actually started about the
insecurity of work, what’s given, what’s granted and finding the power to rise above and know there’s better ahead through perseverance.”

As one of the opening releases of 2025 for DNBB, “Tides” marks an exciting expansion of the label's roster with this international collaboration with the distinct sounds from both Dangeon and Fri3ndship combining in force!

Dangeon said “this song went through many reformations, and I truly feel like we’ve polished it to this ultimate version. Tides is an exercise in embracing the unique characteristics in ourselves and persevering no matter what, which is represented not only by the lyrics, but also by the chords and melodies and the paths which I feel the listener is taken on. Another important aspect is the synergy between Fri3ndship and the instrumental, as
she was able to deeply comprehend the subjectivities of its sound contours and vocally dance accordingly in one unified emotional transmission.”
