RIP George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, & Breonna Taylor
In light of the recent protesting involving the tragic murder of George Floyd in Minneapolis, MN I hope we as a society can recognize our flaws, address them, & become better human beings towards one another. Institutionalized racism has perpetrated long enough in this country & I stand in solidarity with those marching across the globe. We must recognize that in order for all lives to matter we have to demonstrate that #BlackLivesMatter.
Here I share some of my thoughts regarding what has transpired during the last few weeks and how this country has handled things. I am by no means perfect, but I am trying to acknowledge my flaws and improve upon them. As we come to terms with the issues that plague our society it is critical that we understand our individual roles in terminating this unjust treatment of black folk currently and in the future. We have to continue to fight against unfair policing practices, the predatory judicial system, and many other issues that cause obstacles for others based solely on the color of their skin. I ill admit that I do not know where all of the answers may come from, but I am willing to listen and have that discussion. I hope you are able to do the same.
