The question is can we put two idols of baby Krishna in a temple? If I say that there is only one god then people don’t understand and if I say there are more than one then it is an insult to the god. If we can put two ladoo (sweets) in a box full of sweets then why can’t we put two baby krishna’s in a temple? If in our dharma, you can put idols of various deities like Lord Shiva, Hanuman, Lord Rama, Ma Saraswati in your temple then there is no issue in keeping two ladoo gopals in your temple. There are no rules in bhakti. The rules are for Sadhana. Bhakti is not dependent on anything. It is independent of all things.
The other question is that how does a person become a devotee? How should a devotee choose his form for devotion? Whom he should worship? In this case, not everything is in the hands of a devotee. There is also an element of grace. It happens that when you start to learn something new for example when you start reading books on that topic, you will see that at first you will find very useless books. They will be very basic books and not that interesting. And, then when you will start reading those books then slowly you will get your hands on some seriously good books on the same topic.
