Om Swami addressing a question in the teens/youth retreat on finding the passion in life.
If you don’t already know then you have to try a few things. If you try a few things and if you find something interesting, don’t leave it. Initially there is a learning curve in everything and that is a very boring phase. It is very frustrating in the initial stages and that is when most people quit. Even though I have used the word curve in the learning stage, it is more like a staircase. You reach a point and then you reach a point of saturation. There is no growth, there is no learning and you feel that you are not learning anything new. Then you change your ways a little more and you take on new more challenging things and your mind adapts and you reach the next level and next level and the level after.
Try a few things; something you fancied when you were growing up and you wanted to do. Try it. Anything that helps you invest your energies properly. It could be something as simple as painting or dancing or something deeper as spreading the word of God.
