Continuing his address on elements of success for the teens and youth, Om Swami explains the importance of individuality on the path of success.
One common misconception most people have is that those who are successful are somehow born that way. They think that those who are successful have something special, some other element that made them successful whether it is in sports, career, business or any other field. Nothing could be further from truth. Those who create success in their lives were born like anybody else but somewhere they retained one virtue called individuality. Knowing what they stand for and then standing for it.
All around you will be people who do not want you to do well, not intentionally but because they will not do well. Those who do not have control over them usually hang around with people and support their viewpoint. You will automatically be with your kind of people. However, it is in your hands. If you are stronger than them, you will change them and if they are stronger than you, then you will act like them. When they try to change you, at that time you to ask yourself if you are stronger than them or if they are stronger than you. If you are strong they will follow you because people follow strength.
