I would like to talk about the philosophy of life. Not everybody can have a purpose in life. Some just don’t find it. Not everybody finds his or her passion. Some don’t have it because of the way they have been brought up or because of their own tendencies of the mind or because of the way they are built and so on and so forth. If you don’t have a passion or if you don’t have a purpose but some people have a goal and often whey they have achieved that goal, then what’s next? Then how to fill that void in life?
First is you practice the virtues, second is you meditate so that you learn to be grateful with a sense of mindfulness in your mind and third is you articulate clearly on a piece of paper, your guiding principles and that’s what I mean by the philosophy of life. There was a very good Zen master called the Dogen, I will share with you what his wrote down as his philosophy of life.
