There are two quotes from Bill Gates. The first quote is:
“I never took a day off in my twenties. Be nice to nerds. Chances are you'll end up working for one.”
He never took a day off in his twenties. It is not a small statement for somebody to not take a day off for a whole decade. That is how passionate he was about computers. That is how passionate he was about work that he never took a day off.
This is how you feel about passion. If you just want to get up in the morning and get to what matters to you then what your really have is passion. But if you look upon something that you want to do just to have a break from your studies or something your are supposed to be doing then that is not passion, that is an escape route.
Somewhere it is your truth and only you know what is your truth. Here is another quote from him:
“Before you were born, your parents weren't as boring as they are now. They got that way from paying your bills, cleaning your clothes and listening to you talk about how cool you thought you were. So before you save the rain forest from the parasites of your parent's generation, try delousing the closet in your own room.”
