Description

Genesis Hernandez and Elizabeth Pecina join us on this episode of AOTB, and explore self-care, mysticism, astrology, spirituality, conspiracies, mental health, and art amongst a variety of other topics. Genesis is an upcoming artist, budding entrepreneur, and creator of the brand "Ya Callate". Genesis shares experiences that helped shape her aesthetic and artistic style, as well as some of the struggles she's faced as a woman in Mexican-American culture. Liz is a mental health educator involved with community outreach, an advocate for female camaraderie, and female empowerment. Liz recently began to pursue her artistic inclinations, and has begun work on her first commissioned piece. Both Liz and Gen voice their experience dealing with presupposed gender roles and expectations placed on women in Mexican-American culture, and how their departure from those norms may stress/challenge their familial bonds. Follow them both on instagram, and support Genesis's brand by purchasing her merch on depop. Keep your eyes open for the HomeGurls brand. Enjoy.
