It's a concept in Finland that is described as "stoic determination, tenacity of purpose, grit, bravery, resilience, and hardiness," according to Wikipedia.
SISU is now also a movie. And according to this film, it means don't be a Nazi and try to steal gold from a Laplander carrying a pick axe.
