Lyra's bio:
Hailing from Halifax NS Canada, DJ Lyra is a driving force in the Maritimes’ underground electronic music scene. A passionate music lover turned performer, she brings years of dedication to both the community and the dancefloor. With deep roots in music through singing and instrumental performance, it was only natural that she would evolve into a powerhouse behind the decks.
Lyra’s sets are a journey through the rich textures of underground electronic music. From dark, chugging basslines and quirky kick patterns to whirring electro melodies, driving techno, bass-heavy rhythms, and cleverly placed vocal samples, she curates dynamic mixes that are as smart as they are dance-inducing. Her ability to blend genre-defying tracks with seamless energy makes every set unforgettable.
She’s shared the stage with some of the top names in the scene, opening for heavyweights like Colette, Marten Hørger, Nick Rockwell, Miz Megs, DJ Rap, DJ Dan, Chuck Love, Johnny Fiasco, and SNBRN. As one half of the tech house duo Tektric with Justincredible, Lyra continues to push sonic boundaries.
A longtime radio host and guest mix contributor, Lyra hosted the East Coast Vibes show on Sugar Shack Radio and more recently hosts livestreams on twitch every Thursday and has appeared on renowned platforms such as Harmsworth’s Feels Like Sunday, Jon Hart’s Reason 2 Funk, Monty Luke’s Wave of the Future on Scion AV, Girls On Decks, Ghetto Innit, Home Bass FM, Tribe Radio on d3ep.com, and Maritime Grime.
Her resume includes collaborations and performances with some of the region’s most respected crews and events, including Baseline, Zoo Crew Productions, Underdog Productions, Home Bass, Lighthouse Atlantic, Bass Bias, Future Forest Festival (where she also contributes to promotions), Kollektiv and Classics.
Whether she’s igniting a packed festival stage or curating deep vibes at an intimate venue, DJ Lyra is a relentless advocate for Atlantic Canada’s underground electronic scene — and a guaranteed good time on the dancefloor.
