Do You Feel The Change
Hey, what’s that you say
What’s that you say
You’re gonna take a break,
Grab your shit and get out of here, I said
Hey, hey, it’s just another day
It’s just another day
Sometimes you’re going to go through it
Just to make it ‘round here, I said
Hey, hey, sometimes you know it’s time
Sometimes you know it’s time
Sometimes you can’t wait around
For someone else to explain, I said
Hey, it’s just another day
It’s just another day
You gotta spread your wings
when you're learn to fly anyway, I said
Hey, hey, hey, by now you know what's right
By now you know what's wrong
You know, you have to be in the right key to sing along
Do do, do do, do do, uh do you feel it
Do you feel the change
(guitar solo)
I said Hey, what’s that you say
What’s that you say
You’re gonna take a break,
Grab your shit and get out of here, I said
Hey, hey, it’s just another day
It’s just another day
Sometimes you’re going to go through it
Just to make it ‘round here, I said
Hey, hey, sometimes you know it’s time
Sometimes you know it’s time
Sometimes you can’t wait around
For someone else to explain, I said
Hey, it’s just another day
It’s just another day
You gotta spread your wings
when you're learning to fly anyway I said
Hey, hey, hey, sometimes you know what's right
Sometimes you know what's wrong
You know, you have to be in the right key to sing along
Do do, do do, do do, uh can you feel it
Do do, do do, do do, can you feel the change
Do you feel, can you feel the change
It's going 'rouhd, arouhd, 'round again
[It’s hard growing up in a world so tough
Even if you grew up hard
Even if it was rough
And Grandma's not always gonna be by your side
To be cheering you and helping you and lifting you high
Everybody grows old
Everybody dies
And Grandpa is smiling on you
With his green eyes
Making sure your safe
Making sure you got work
And Alex is probly laughing
Cuz that's how He worked
He loved the family and that's a fact
And that's something that no one can ever take back
But, the point of this song, Christina
Is to give you hope
We need to pull each other up but
No one throws you rope
When you start to get down
When you start to cry
Just remember, if I can survive this shit
If I can Survive ...
then you got this
And that's a promise
And that's no lie]
Christina
Let's go, let's go, go, let's go
Let's hit the road, the road, road, the road
Viva Las Vegas!
[And I'm out now
And it's about now
And it's time for me
to sing and shout now!]
Christina
(brown chicken brown cow)
Let's go, let's go, go, let's go
Let's hit the road, the road, road, the road
Viva Las Vegas
(Repeat 4Xs)
(I wrote this for my niece, Christina, about four years ago when she was considering a big move, and was a little apprehensive. Now, hell, it's just good advice with a little personal flavor added.
Anyway, I was looking at old Logic Files (because my iPhone was stolen and I only have my computer right now) and I stumbled on this old file. I opened it and remembered how much I really loved this song. Back when I first wrote it, I played it for Alex, and he told me it had a nice western meets MJ vibe. I said, hey, I'll take that! I wish he could hear this one.
The song is completely different now, and I love it even more. Hope you do too. This was my 4th of July ... how was yours? - tgr)
