Today’s guest grew up in El Paso, Texas where, in his own words, “the desert southwest and the mountains of southern New Mexico left an indelible impression on his soul.” The recipient of six Texas Music Awards, including "Song of the Year" for the title cut on his album “Find Your Shine” he was also a New Folk Finalist at the Kerrville Folk Festival in 2000. It was 2013 when I first became fully immersed in the Texas Music scene while recording an early Mister Radio episode at the Picker Circle in Luckenbach, Texas, then I finally understood why many critics say that all the best singer songwriters come from Texas, in fact one reviewer for Americana magazine, when writing about my guest, stated that “some may argue against this fact but it’s true; the dissenters are wrong. Townes Van Zandt, Guy Clark, Steve Earle, Lyle Lovett, Butch Hancock, Joe Ely, Nanci Griffith, Willie Nelson, the names go on, and now there’s one more to add to the list...Kevin Higgins.”
It is my honor to introduce today’s guest, Kevin Higgins.
