Motoko & Myers are back on FT with a surprise remix album, stretching their Plover b/w Whimbrel 7” (FT052) into 14 tracks by handing over the binoculars to a host of remixers.
“Plover” in particular is taken to techno heights only hinted at in the original by many of the producers, its beautiful melody acting like pure dance information, moldable into shape. Perko, Unknown Mobile and Davis Galvin get super busy with it for all the deejays, Doc Sleep & Glenn Astro (collaborating together) encase the collection in a 3-song suite of a remix, Ali Berger houses it down, Category goes off the dub deep end, and Flora FM goes full Dave Angel ravelife in amazing fashion.
The drowsier “Whimbrel” gets shlazed, low-slung mixes from TMC and Jack Murphy as well as breaksplorations from Gag Reflex and DJML. Bass Clef combines both songs for a complete trip.
