It's been said that 8 is the number of new beginnings; and that August, being the 8th month, represents the month of new beginning. It certainly has been a new beginning for me, as a MAJOR door in my life closed, marking the official end to a 7-year relationship with my significant other. Ironically, her birthday is September 23, which has been rumored to be the start of the apocalypse in 2015! Anyhoo, in "Bring Me Back", I recount near-death experiences I had as a child; as well as the near-death of a close friend that occurred back in 2012. This song follows "White Flag", which represents a kind of spiritual and moral death; while "Bring Me Back" makes the plea for resurrection from spiritual, moral, and even physical death; thus addressing the cycle of life.
