Real life is rated R
Can't filter real shit
See a fight, the kids are marred
Can't seem to process it
The way of nature,
they can't handle
So they're raised unnaturally
They'll no longer act like animals
When their raised thru a tv
They're yoked & domesticated
Ready for the massa's purpose
To cope, many do get faded
Cuz inside is where the hurt is
Gotta rediscover raw
Life thus far's been sugar-coated
Filtered shit is all I saw
If it's real, I wouldn't know it
So begins a quest for truth
A trek traveling back to roots
To find a place I once knew
Before you
I'm coming back
I'm here
Move over
Revere me now
I'm coming back
I'm here
No worries
No fear no doubt
I discovered me again
Ooh this shit feels so amazing
Seeing things different
And I'm loving the sensation
Cuz Glory saturates my past
But Now I'm 'posed to give it to god
We used to be that in the past
Who we give it to now looks odd
I'm reclaiming my former job
And rejecting what they have for me
My birthright's been pimped for a car
That will no longer be my story
I'm coming back
I'm here
Move over
Revere me now
I'm coming back
I'm here
No worries
No fear no doubt
From here on out it's royalty
'Cause I know I've been redeemed
Even found my Quantum Queen
That ring finger is sparkling
She crowns me with everything
Oh, when I found her, found a good thing
Still get that urge to keep looking
Cuz, after all, I'm still a human being
But I know that things ain't what it seems
Like how the gold went from yellow to green
Either way, I'm still a King
Coming, for the reckoning
*This was the song I originally contemplated releasing for February; it kind of felt like a Black History Month anthem! It has a solemn but groovy feel to it, akin to #FrankOcean's work on #ChannelOrange, or #Usher's "#Climax"; see if you can spot the influence!
(Long, long ago
In a place not so far away,
a nation of black people
built a civilization that, some argue,
surpasses even that which
we have today, during a time
when the white man knew
nothing of writing or language.
The black people discovered a
sub-specie of human called
Neanderthals, on the brink of
extinction; and through compassion, empathy, or lust
mated with the creature, thereby
allowing the creatures' genes
to survive in what is now
non-African populations. Black
people conferred, not only language
but, the ability to comprehend
language to this creature. Over
time, black people taught them
even more, including math, science,
chemistry, and even astronomy. They welcomed descendants of the
creature into some of the world's
oldest universities. After which,
the descendants would take the
knowledge back to their kinsman,
claiming it as their own. The
violent and domineering nature
of the creature's descendants
prompted them to use that
knowledge to wage war against
their former teachers and saviors,
eventually overcoming them and
subjecting them to slavery and
subordinate treatment through
force and deception. This treatment
continues to this day, even as the
former progenitors of civilization
awaken to their true history. The
battle continues, but the day of
reckoning is at hand. The original
people will reclaim their rightful
place and an era of peace, harmony,
and prosperity will ensue. It is written; so shall it be.)
