We’re welcoming a special guest, with an altogether exceptional mix today. Maxwell, going with today’s moniker, S’hell - has put together a heartening and illuminating sound that we couldn’t be more delighted to share. An integral member of the community, and an architect within the Apt E organization, S’hell’s predilections and rich acumen of the craft shine brilliantly through this work.
Like a locomotive departing and later barreling through a sanguine and buoyant fog. The set begins by building a slow, meticulous foundation, expanding into a dense and progressive marvel. What could easily evolve into an angst-ridden expedition if helmed with inadequate fervor and passion transforms into a familiar, unshakeable pilgrimage that many have yearned for. New growth, saluting the old. A sign, acknowledging a flourishing optimism not stamped out. A spiritual successor to other mixes created for Apt E under a handful of different aliases, it’s refreshing and inviting to find a common denominator amongst an artist’s growing work. Different mixes, cut from the same cloth.
Apt E is wrapping up the finishing touches for their third release, heavily influenced by a deep love of krautrock, listeners can expect it in the near future. We can expect anything and everything from the label moving forward. S’hell, and the entire team behind Apt E are a phenomenal crew that represent the best parts of the Seattle community.
