If you’re looking to try cross-country skiing for the first time this winter, the Big Fork Community Nordic Center in the Flathead Valley is a great place to learn.
Here, the groomed trails are mostly flat, and beginners can keep right at every junction
for an easy-going adventure. If you feel the need for a little speed, trek to Little Jewel Loop to ski some steep downhills.
Enjoy the crisp, cold air while soaking in the pine forest blanketed in snow. Snowshoers are also welcome to enjoy the trails — just be sure to avoid the groomed track and follow trail etiquette.
