In Makoshika State Park near Glendive, the Cap Rock Trail brings you to one of the largest natural sandstone bridges in this unique landscape. On the way, numerous interpretive signs provide some detail about the history and geology of the area. Stop at sign #8 to take photos of the bridge, and then venture across it - it might look flimsy, but it feels solid underfoot! After the bridge, the trail contours around the edge of a small but scenic canyon before winding up some stairs to the grass and sage-covered canyon rim.
