A day trip from Missoula or Superior, Heart Lake is a popular summer destination in the Great Burn Proposed Wilderness. This 2.5 mile hike follows the South Fork of Trout Creek through dense cedars, patches of huckleberries, and the occasional aspen stand. Hike on to the smaller Pearl, Dalton, or Trio Lakes for more solitude.
