This winter hike to Marshall Lake in the Mission Mountains offers breathtaking views of the Swan Range. Cross-country ski or snowshoe just over a mile and cross the West Fork of the Clearwater, where cool waters provide vital bull trout habitat. As you climb to views of the Swan Range and the valley below, see if you can spot and identify wildlife tracks, which are sure to abound in this winter wonderland. Continue along Marshall Creek until you come upon scenic Marshall Lake.
