1. I hope you agree to answer a few random and fun questions to share with our listeners?
Yes of course! It’s a pleasure to answer your questions, I really enjoyed them.
2. To start you off tell us what song puts you in a good mood when you wake up in the morning?
This depends on the state of mind when I wake up, which varies a lot. At the moment, I definitely hear a lot of German rap – one of my number one tracks lately is the Berliner Crew Huftmafia with the Saftboys and their new Sampler VitaminHunterz. Wicked stuff!
3. Now should you ever, but let’s hope not, be stuck on an island, which music album would you bring with you and why?
Oh man, hard question. But I think it’ll be AzudemSK “Bis das Leben applaudiert”. One can listen to this track on repeat.
4. Moving on to serious issues, what is your favourite cocktail to drink during a sunset?
Honestly, I am not a great cocktail fan. But I do really enjoy a beer and a schnapps. With a good, cold Czech beer (or even better: a tray :D) and a vodka or tequila gold you can always count me in! When I am playing b2b together with my partner in crime MissingNo, we never miss out on the Runner Schorle: Sekt with Mate!
5. Once the global pandemic is over, which festival would be the one you would go to first and why? (it could be a club, if you got no festival in mind)
This will definitely be the Garbicz festival in Poland and the Habitat festival in the north of Germany. Garbicz, not only because of the breathtaking place with its enchanted forest and lake and how this place leads me to new musical dimension every time. This get-together is crucial to making you feel so comfortable.. Habitat festival, on one hand because of its nordic flair, the people in the north are relaxed, on the other the enormous spectrum of genres this festival covers.
6. Which artist/band do you secretly love but you are embarrassed to admit ?
Another good question, haha! 😀 I guess I”ll have to mention the australian duo “Geowulf” with the track “Saltwater”. Or, “I don’t talk about you”. This lady and her voice makes me weak…
7. If you could open a show for any artist, who would it be and why?
Without a doubt Mira from Berlin. Thanks to her, I really got inspired to start and play (along with Chris Schwarzwalder). The tracks Mira discovers and the way she builds amazing sets out of these treasures, will give you goose bumps, guaranteed. Like the last Bachstelzen set. To me, the combination of tracks that goes beyond this world just like Robin Dey’s set at miras birthday in 2019. These two really have inspired and influenced me musically. I should mention Acud, Jonathan Kaspar, Renga Weh, Yubik, Monolink, Rangø, Safira, Squire, Luis M, Serge Devant and International Electrical Rhythms.
8. Lastly, regarding this mix you have done for us, can you tell us a little bit of your thought process behind choosing the tracks you chose?
I try to imagine standing in the middle of a small dance floor of a festival or Rave, and think of the atmosphere I wish for at that very moment. Then, I try to translate this sense of feeling into my music. This magical feeling where you dive into the crowd, this experience I try to revive. I need a mix of nostalgia, melancholia with slightly dark pulsating elements in my music.
I would like to thank you once again to have this great opportunity of being part of your amazing podcast stream. I wish you all the best, it was a great pleasure!
