1. To start you off tell us what song puts you in a good mood when you wake up in the morning?
For the last 6 months, I was living in the woods, so I was not listening to music but more in a contemplative, meditative vibe listening to nature. When I do play music in the morning any Nina Simone or old reggae always helps start the day. A suggestion to give you energy with your coffee: Mike Pedicin - Burnt Toast & Black Coffee
2. Now should you ever, but let’s hope not, be stuck on an island, which music album would you bring with you and why?
Any album from the Abyssians or Toots & The Maytals will do the job, I'm a big fan of Reggae music, it gives me smiles, tears and happiness. I'm a easy chill relax dude and a weed lover...
4. Moving on to serious issues, what is your favourite cocktail to drink during a sunset?
Mezcal off course! Mexico is one of my favorite countries. I always bring back amazing mezcal from there but here in Canada it's impossible to find the same quality and the price is just ridiculous.
5. Once the global pandemic is over, which festival would be the one you would go to first and why? (it could be a club, if you got no festival in mind)
This year I had my ticket to go to Burning Man (not a festival by the way) and Boom Festival in Portugal. I've been a few times to the Burn and it's always an amazing feeling to come back to the playa. I never been to Boom festival and I was really curious to see it from my eyes. FUSION festival is also on top of my list.
6. Which artist/band do you secretly love but you are embarrassed to admit? (i.e. you have been to their concert, you know the lyrics.
Hum, I think I will pick Baby One More Time from Britney. When I start to go to Club, it was a big hit at this time and I have always fun listening this song, it brings me back some cool memories.
7. If you could open a show for any artist, who would it be and why?
I would love to open for El Buho, Im big fan of his music, his work, his label Shika Shika with Barrio Lindo. Their label is a big inspiration for Cosmovision Records. Please support this project and listen to the beautiful VA https://shikashika.bandcamp.com/album/a-guide-to-the-birdsong-of-mexico-central-america-the-caribbean
8. Lastly, regarding this mix you have done for us, can you tell us a little bit of your thought process behind choosing the tracks you chose?
For me every time I create a mix for a podcast or for dj set, I always take time to pick the first song and the last song of the mix, they are the most important songs in a mix in my mind. So, when I listen the new album from The Architect, the song '' Une plage sur la lune '' was the best soundtrack to start the mix. Anyway for me the best sunset are when you are in a beach, feet in the sand and a breeze in the air. I try to give this mix a playa vibe. I recorded this mix live when I was playing for a small gathering with friends in front of Bliss Lake in The Laurentides (Quebec). The picture in the mix is the view I have from the dj decks. Then, for the rest of the songs I pick some fresh release from Hajna, Hesselberg, Wanduta, Random Rab, Jacob Groening, Arutani.. I add as well a new unreleased song from J.Pool remixed by Moontide (coming soon on Cosmovision) and some edits. I love to play some classics revisited.
