Good morning Jay 😊
➢ To start you off tell us what song puts you in a good mood when you wake up in the morning?
The sound of nature. I have the chance to live in the countryside and cohabit with lots of animals. They are my music to spend a beautiful day :-)
➢ Your musical career began in HipHop, what made you move towards a career in electronic music?
Freedom in my creation in 15 years I made some platinum discs with hip-hop it's great, but you always work for an artist, you're not the artist. With electronic music I tell my story, it's a deep musical journey without the standard code of "The Music Industry". I think that time has also made me evolve and touch everything that music can be.
➢ As a producer, who are some of your inspirations that formed the style of music you associate yourself with?
Just love, groove and deepness
➢ Since the pandemic it has been difficult time for the music scene, how has it changed within Lausanne and what do you think will be different when things return to a certain “normality”?
Like everyone else I'm waiting... people need to reconnect, the recovery will be strong in energy and in a more intimate and local atmosphere, I think. In lausanne people are ready haha
➢Lastly, regarding this mix you have done for us, can you tell us a little bit of your thought process behind choosing the tracks you chose?
Honestly, I never prepare my sets. When I buy or compose a new piece I take time to edit, put loops and cue points. I mix with 2-3 tracks throughout the set and on the 4th track I throw percussion, voice and snareroll to create climbs. My tracks are referenced with keys and power so I can freestyle easily and adapt to many different moods. For sunset groove I played a set that I would have done between 01h-02h in the morning ;-) Enjoy
