Good morning Marsha 😊
➢Tell us what song puts you in a good mood when you wake up in the morning?
It is actually not a specific song but Meditation music with nature sounds that I enjoy most in the morning. It helps me to quite my inner voice, “just be” and prepare for a full and productive day.
➢Where would be the best place to take us to enjoy a sunset in Athens?
The ancient Greek temple of Poseidon at Cape Sounio is one of the best places to experience a magical sunset over the Aegean sea. You travel back in time while the late afternoon sun bathes the glorious temple with a golden glorious glow.
➢What is your favourite aspect of DJ’ing?
Keeping people entertained and inspiring them to get up and dance is part of the reason I love to DJ. Also interacting with them, understanding the mood of the dance floor, the energy of the venue and how it changes is a real challenge and motive for me.
➢You run the wonderful Deep House Athens channel. What is the hardest part about running a channel like yours?
Running Deep House Athens requires a lot of time but it brings me a lot of personal joy and satisfaction. Keeping the quality high, creating the ideal space and choosing the right music and talented artists is maybe the hardest part about running the channel.
➢ What do you hope to bring the music scene with Deep House Athens?
Deep House Athens was founded on the belief that the true beauty of music is connection and so its main aim is to connect to one another as far and wide around the globe as we can.
➢Lastly, regarding this mix you have done for us, can you tell us a little bit of your thought process behind choosing the tracks you chose?
This mix is a bit different to what I’m usually doing. I moved out of my comfort zone and blended different tunes in order to deliver the calming power of a glorious sunset. It starts with some old chill, lounge & dub music and, in the middle, it changes to some new downtempo organic house. The mix was inspired by all those beautiful sunsets that I’ve watched in my life and which I count them as a blessing. I recorded it one or two days before the wildfires started in Greece and so I dedicate it to the forestland, the trees and the animals that turned into ashes and, of course, to all those people whose houses and heritage lost in the fire.
