Artist Spotlight: Troy Dillard- Music In Me
Troy Dillard hit the music scene in the Mid 90’s with his soulful vocals and choreographed dancers known as Be 1 Soul. In 1999 he caught the ear of New York Legend and owner of Maya Records Joeski. Together they created his breakout, top ranking, dance floor classic Hold On To Your Love.
Gaining the attention of some top labels in the country, he went on to collaborate with a variety of producers including Demarkus Lewis, Matt Bandy and his most recent hit Can’t Bring Me Down with Gettoblaster that’s currently climbing the top of the tech house charts, as well as several local STL producers. In 2010 he got the mixing bug and after much encouragement and mentoring from his close circle of industry friends, he dove in headfirst accompanied by his live vocals and made a big splash into the DJ World.
Making the inevitable crossover to promoter he found himself helping run the very prominent and staple crew INICIO, known for bringing such headliners as Halo, Julius The Mad Thinker, and Golf Clap to the STL scene. After 10 successful years he made quite the name for himself as a very skilled and seasoned DJ/Vocalist. He soon branched out on his own creating and managing YOLO-STL, landing him several popular residencies in the local club scene.
Aspiring to become a true triple threat (vocalist/DJ/Producer), he is now working diligently on his first solo production EP as well as a plethora of new projects with a variety of other producers and labels. Big things on the horizon for this guy with no end in sight.
