Ep52. In conversation with Zarifa Ghafari (گفت و شنود با ظریفه غفاری)
In this episode, we have a special guest. I speak with one of the most courageous women alive. She is the former mayor of Maidan Wardak, a small town 40 KM away from Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan. She is also the Founder & General Director of Peghla FM Radio, the Founder & CEO of APAW Org, and a Human Rights Activist. She has written a book called 'Zarifa' and recently, a Netflix Documentary (In Her Hands) was released about her life and escape from Afghanistan after the fall of Kabul on Aug 15th, 2021.
There have been multiple terrorist attacks on her life. She survived a horrific traffic accident, and she was almost burned alive. It is quite a miracle she is still with us today.
This is the story of an übermensch. This is the story of a brave young girl determined to make a difference in a male-dominated world.
