Inspired by a painting of the same name by Montreal-based artist Dominic Besner, this piece explores the many links possible between colors and forms as perceived by the eye, and as perceived by the ear. Inevitably, it also plays around the idea of translating a fixed, virtually timeless image, into an art form which is essentially based upon time, and the evolution through time of the materials it employs.
While concerned with these theorethical issues, I mainly attempted to build, or at least suggest the basis for, a universe that could breathe and stand on its own, independantly of that of the visual work of art which inspired the piece in the first place. That being said, the piece does also reflect my personnal interpretation of Besner's work, but, as is often the case with acousmatic music, it most likely is of no importance whatsoever for the listener's own experience...
