Description

Founded in 1991, FAMM started as an organization dedicated to ending mandatory minimum sentencing, and while ending mandatory minimums is still a priority, the organization has since evolved to advocate for comprehensive changes to the criminal legal system. Today, FAMM advocates for reforming community supervision, encourages policymakers to #VisitAPrison, and wants older people who are incarcerated to have the chance to live the final years of their lives with dignity.

In this episode, we hear from Celeste Trusty, FAMM's state policy director in Pennsylvania. Celeste outlines FAMM's current priorities in Pennsylvania and discusses a lobby day that FAMM is organizing and ACLU-PA is supporting on reforming probation, which will be at the state capitol in Harrisburg on September 24.
