Recently, the Wex had the pleasure of visits from two filmmakers with prior connections to our Film/Video Studio program and strong creative ties to their respective hometowns: Guy Maddin of Winnipeg and Matt Porterfield of Baltimore. Nonetheless, both filmmakers have recent work connected to a city that’s not their own, and each of these projects has been seen at the Wex. For this WexCast, Film/Video Director Dave Filipi talks with Guy about his San Francisco-centric new film The Green Fog, and Associate Film/Video Curator Chris Stults interviews Matt about his Berlin-based narrative short, Take What You Can Carry.
