Description

Pens to Pictures is an innovative program created by filmmaker and Wright State University professor Chinonye Chukwu that offers a chance for incarcerated women to share their stories through film, with control over the process from script to screen. For the 2017 Director's Dialogue on Art and Social Change, the Wexner Center for the Arts presented the films, a short documentary about the project, and a number of resources to learn more about empowering the incarcerated, including this post-screening conversation with Chukwu, Ohio State University professors Townsand Price-Spratlen and Audrey Begun, and Tammy Fournier-Alsaad, a community organizer for Ohio Juvenile Justice Coalition. The program begins with an intro by Wex Director Sherri Geldin.
