MARA is an original, multidisciplinary piece, celebrating women through time by means of sound manipulation and electro-acoustic music, performed live by The New Victorians. An ensemble-driven piece starring an all-female Maltese company. From inventors and scientists, to artists and activists. From musicians and politicians, to writers, to fighters, to mothers. MARA is an audio-theatrical journey through time, highlighting the fact that every story is worth telling, and that no voice should be silenced.

For musical sisters Bella and Blue, competition means serious business. So when The New Victorians announce they are running a songwriting competition to find their new support act, they have to enter and they have to win. This dynamic duo have just one day to make the ultimate electro-acoustic pop hit... but what does that mean and who turned off the wifi? Come help Bella and Blue on their quest to become legends before lunchtime in this interactive sound journey. A must-see for all the mischievous music makers in your family.

ABOUT THE NEW VICTORIANS
There is something about sisters. Sisters are friends and partners and soul mates. Sisters share stories and clothes and tears and wine. Sisters have conversations, silly and honest and deep and enlightening. Their music is all that and more.
The song-writing duo from Malta fuse their classical music foundation with their love for technology, creating an Electronic Indie sound most notable for its haunting harmonies and clever lyrics. Both multi-instrumentalists and performance artists, the sisters are intent on redefining the contemporary music scene, taking listeners on a journey by means of both their live gigs and their music videos.
2011 saw the conception of The New Victorians, following their success at the Alchemy Songwriting Competition in the U.S. In 2015, they launched the debut album SEEKER SEEKER, with singles like Keep Me In Love, and in 2016, their theatrical debut MARA, played to sold out houses at the Manoel Studio Theatre. In 2018 they launched their latest EP titled Silence, with which they opened for multi-platinum artist Anastacia, on her European Tour – Evolution, and topped local charts for six consecutive weeks with the single Lie Liar. Most recently The duo worked with an all-female cast on the newly adapted version of MARA.
