In today’s episode Elaine chats to Scottish actress and writer Rachel Flynn. They cover everything from Judy Garland to studying later in life, to making your own work and why theatre is so important to society.
RACHEL FLYNN
Rachel is a Scottish actor; writer and producer. has performed from London’s West End to Pitlochry. Theatre credits include: Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz (Pitlochry Festival Theatre); Ruth in The Silver Sword (SellaDoor UK Tour) and Serena in Fame - The Musical (KD Theatre tour). TV & Film credits include: Badla (Netflix Feature Film); Will You Merry Me? (Winner Best Actor at 48hr Film Fest); When Abbie Met Emmy (Premiered BFI London) and 209ers (pilot for Black Camel/CBBC). She is also a Qdos Pantomime regular, in the last 5 years performing Principal Girl at Edinburgh Kings, Glasgow SEC and His Majesty’s Aberdeen.
She has written plays We Keep Going and Lather. Rinse. Repeat. for Short Attention Span Theatre and her most recent work Keepin The Heid, a comedy about Mary Queen of Scot’s final hours in isolation is preparing for performance post-COVID. She is currently under commission for a new play The Magdalene for a theatre in Birgu, Malta. Rachel is Co-Founder and Producer of Interabang Productions who have presented work including her musical play Being Liza for Edinburgh Fringe; SceneToSeen (an online 6-part new-writing series garnering 25k+ views) and upcoming new work with Stellar Quines and Renfrewshire Leisure.
