Description

In the late sixties, England and West Germany were the two European footballing powerhouses. Steve’s English father – himself a footballer – had such high hopes for his son following in his footsteps, he arranged for Steve to be born over in Germany; that he may then be able to choose which country to play for when he grew up. Unfortunately, Steve himself didn’t follow the script…emerging a ‘small camp child’ with zero sporting prowess. What follows is the story of a working class upbringing in the North of England as he struggled to figure out his life path. A circuitous route, via film-making, playwriting, acting, photography and Pizza Hut eventually brought him to advertising, where he quickly rose to become one of the world’s leading planners. Today, Steve is the Chief Strategy Officer for Publicis Communications (Asia) based in Singapore.
